Vedic astrology is originated from Vedas, the ancient and sacred scripture of Hinduism and Vedas are considered to be oldest texts of the world as written about 5000 to 8000 years ago, which precisely speak about the Vedic astrology. As far as the history of Western astrology is considered, it is developed 2000 or 3000 years ago by Greeks and Babylonians.
Western Astrology derived its principles on the relationship between Sun and the Earth. These principles basically based on the fact that since is in the center of Solar system, it is therefore more and more important to the elements of earth than any other mystical body. It is therefore most of the western astrological predictions based on the relationship of Sun and the tropics of the Earth, consisted of tropic of Cancer and tropic of Capricorn. In western astrology 22nd March considered as special as it is the date when day and night becomes of equal durations. Western astrology marks this date as the beginning of New Year, unlike 1st January which is considered the beginning of year according to Romans.
Indian or Vedic Astrology is entirely different from Western Astrology as Vedic astrology never speaks about beginning or end of a year according to dates. It is completely based on the positions of planets and stars. It also derived the predictions on the basis of interrelationship between them. Vedic astrological principles do not entirely depend on the relationship between Earth and Sun because of the fact that each and every mystical body is in motion in the universe. These established facts make Vedic astrology more reliable and accurate than Western Astrology.
It is therefore Vedic astrology is more precise, accurate and deep than Western astrology as far as execution or its functions are concerned. Western astrology believes in more about psychological behavior of a person and it less concerned about the predicting future events. While the Vedic astrology gives equal importance to both of these aspects. In addition, Vedic astrology also gives importance to possible Karmic tendencies that is whether he will involve in Paap (sins) or Punya (virtues). Vedic astrology is also concerned about the different situations in an individual life giving rise to different circumstances.
